recontextualiser la crise et les stratégies politiques et médiatiques  
qui l'accompagnent, autour des thèmes de la catastrophe, de  
l'instabilité structurelle et des mythologies des marchés.

Stock Overflow is an operation proposed by RYBN to recontextualize the  
crisis, its mediatic and politic strategies, on the topics of  
disaster, structural instability and financial markets mythologies.

*ABOUT THE SPEAKERS* / *A PROPOS DES INTERVENANTS*
BRIAN HOLMES is an art and cultural critic, activist and translator,  
living in Paris, interested primarily in the intersections of artistic  
and political practice. He holds a doctorate in Romance Languages and  
Literatures from the University of California at Berkeley. He was the  
English editor of publications for Documenta X, Kassel, Germany, 1997,  
was a member of the graphic arts group Ne pas plier from 1999 to 2001,  
and has recently worked with the French conceptual art group Bureau  
d'études. He is a frequent contributor to the international  
mailinglist Nettime, a member of the editorial committee of the art  
magazine "Springerin" and the political-economy journal "Multitudes",  
a regular contributor to the magazine Parachute, and a founder of the  
new journal "Autonomie Artistique". He is currently preparing a book  
in French, entitled "La personnalité flexible: Pour une nouvelle  
critique de la culture.

SOCIÉTÉ RÉALISTE is a Paris-based cooperative created by Ferenc Gróf  
and Jean-Baptiste Naudy in June 2004. This cooperative manages the  
development of several research and economical structures in fields  
such as territorial ergonomy, experimental economy, political design  
or counter-strategy. Société Réaliste is researcher at Jan van Eyck  
Academie (Maastricht) and is represented by Galerie Martine Aboucaya  
(Paris).

BRIAN HOLMES: Critique d'art, essayiste et traducteur, il vit à Paris  
et s'intéresse aux croisements entre art, économie politique et  
mouvements sociaux. Il a effectué un doctorat sur les langages et la  
littérature romantiques à l'Université de Berkeley ( Californie ) et a  
été l'éditeur en anglais du recueil « Documenta X », Kassel, Germany,  
1997. Membre du groupe d'art graphique « Ne pas plier" de 1999 à 2001,  
il travaille depuis peu avec le groupe d'art conceptuel parisien «  
Bureau d'études » avec lequel il a fondé la revue « Autonomie

2003, il prépare un livre en français : « La personnalité flexible :  
pour une nouvelle critique de la culture ». Membre du comité de  
rédaction transnational de Multitudes. Il a dirigé son numéro spécial  
« l'Art contemporain : la recherche du dehors », Janvier 2004, Exils.

SOCIÉTÉ RÉALISTE: coopérative artistique créée en 2004 par Ferenc Gróf  
et Jean-Baptiste Naudy. Leur pratique consiste à développer plusieurs  
entreprises de recherche, appliquées tour à tour aux champs de  
l'ergonomie territoriale, de l'économie expérimentale, de la contre- 
stratégie, ou plus particulièrement du design politique, comme c'est  
le cas avec le projet Transitioners, initié en 2006.

Antidatamining est une série de représentations visuelles des données  
financières qui transitent sur internet. L'économie contemporaine y  
est incarnée par ses principaux acteurs - entreprises, place  
boursières, banques et fonds d'investissement, grands groupes - et par  
leurs interactions : liens capitalistiques entre les acteurs  
économiques, déploiements géographiques, articulation autour des  
places de marchés. Au-delà de la crise actuelle, de sa médiatisation  
et des leviers politiques qu'elle génère, Antidatamining est un  
dispositif de veille permanente qui tente de mettre en évidence la  
structure de l'économie mondiale, envisagée comme un système dynamique  
complexe.

Antidatamining is a series of visualizations of financial data  
extracted from the web. Economy is represented by its main agents -  
companies, groups and holdings, stock exchanges, banks and investment  
funds - and their interactions : capital relationships, geographic  
deployments, structuralization on market places. Beyond the current  
crisis, its mediatic and polictic levers, Antidatamining is a  
permanent monitoring device, which aims to highlight the structure of  
the contemporary economy, seen as a complex dynamic system.
