BEAST IFF ANNOUNCES EAST, MATCH, GO!’S SELECTED PITCHING
FEATURE-LENGTH PROJECTS AND PROGRAMME
___EAST, MATCH, GO! is an exclusive industry event dedicated to
fostering networking and collaboration between Portugal and Central
and Eastern Europe that has its debut this year_

EAST, MATCH, GO!, a pioneering film industry event, is set to debut
during the 6th BEAST - Festival of Central & Eastern European Film.
This year’s event has a Focus *VISEGRAD*, presenting a selection of
the best feature-length projects from Czechia, Hungary, Poland and
Slovakia. The 2023 edition will be held on site in Porto, on September
30 - October 01 at Batalha Centro de Cinema.
The event is poised to become a pivotal platform for industry
professionals, offering a unique platform for forging connections
between Portugal and the dynamic film communities of Central & Eastern
Europe. Supported by the International Visegrad Fund and in
partnership with Filmaporto — Film Commission, this initiative is
driven by a commitment to redefining collaboration and innovation in
the film industry.
EAST MATCH, GO! INCLUDES FOUR MAIN EVENTS:
V4 CONNECT — PITCHING SESSION — Featuring V4 Connect with sessions
of film pitching where filmmakers from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland
and Slovakia will have the opportunity to present their projects to a
panel of industry experts, potential co-producers, and financiers.
This platform enables filmmakers to showcase their work, receive
constructive feedback, and gain exposure to potential funding and
distribution opportunities in Portugal, predominantly Porto and the
Northern region.
SELECTED PROJECTS FOR V4 CONNECT — PITCHING SECTION 2023:
⚪ TWENTY-SEVEN | fiction directed by Gregor Valentovič, produced by
Katarína Tomková (Slovakia).
⚪ SUN AND HORIZON | animated documentary directed by Jana Počtová,
produced by Jakub Pinkava (Czech Republic)
⚪ VOICE/OVER | hybrid documentary directed by Bálint Révész,
produced by Viki Réka Kiss (Czech Republic/Hungary)
INDUSTRY MATCHMAKING — Central to this film co-production and
networking platform are the matchmaking meetings, which have been
curated to facilitate targeted interactions between film professionals
from Portugal and Central & Eastern Europe. These one-on-one meetings
offer a focused environment where participants can discuss project
ideas, explore potential collaborations, and forge meaningful
partnerships.
LET’S TALK! — PANELS & INSPIRATIONAL TALKS — Complementing the
matchmaking meetings and film pitching sessions, a series of panel
discussions will delve into key industry topics such as broadcast
strategies, short film production, and the social-political impact of
cinema. Renowned industry professionals will share their expertise,
insights, and best practices, offering participants a deeper
understanding of the evolving film landscape and the latest industry
trends across Eastern Europe and Portugal.

_EAST, MATCH, GO! é um evento da indústria exclusivo, dedicado a
estabelecer colaborações e networking entre Portugal e a Europa
Central e de Leste, sendo este o seu ano de estreia__ _
EAST, MATCH, GO!, um evento pioneiro da indústria de cinema, vai ter
a sua estreia durante a sexta edição do BEAST - Festival of Central
& Eastern European Film. Este ano, o evento tem um foco *VISEGRAD*,
apresentando uma selecção dos melhores projectos de longas-metragens
da República Checa, Hungria, Polónia e Eslováquia. A edição de
2023 vai acontecer no Porto, de 30 Setembro - 01 Outubro, no Batalha
Centro de Cinema.
O evento está apto a tornar-se uma plataforma fundamental para os
profissionais do sector, oferecendo uma plataforma única para
estabelecer ligações entre Portugal e as dinâmicas comunidades
cinematográficas da Europa Central e de Leste. Apoiado pelo
International Visegrad Fund e em parceria com a Filmaporto - Film
Commission, esta iniciativa é impulsionada pelo compromisso de
redefinir a colaboração e a inovação na indústria
cinematográfica.
O East Match, Go! inclui quatro eventos principais:
V4 CONNECT - SESSÃO DE PITCHING - O V4 Connect apresenta sessões de
pitching de filmes onde realizadores da República Checa, Hungria,
Polónia e Eslováquia terão a oportunidade de apresentar os seus
projectos a um painel de especialistas da indústria, potenciais
co-produtores e financiadores. Esta plataforma permite aos
realizadores mostrar o seu trabalho, receber feedback construtivo e
ganhar exposição a potenciais oportunidades de financiamento e
distribuição em Portugal, predominantemente no Porto e na região
Norte.

INDUSTRY MATCHMAKING — No centro desta plataforma de coprodução e
networking estão os encontros de matchmaking, que foram organizados
para facilitar interacções específicas entre profissionais de
cinema de Portugal e da Europa Central e de Leste. Estas reuniões
individuais proporcionam um ambiente de trabalho onde os participantes
podem discutir ideias de projectos, explorar potenciais colaborações
e estabelecer parcerias significativas.
LET'S TALK! - PAINÉIS E PALESTRAS INSPIRADORAS - A complementar as
reuniões de matchmaking e as sessões de pitching de filmes, uma
série de painéis de discussão irá aprofundar temas-chave do
sector, como as estratégias de difusão, a produção de
curtas-metragens e o impacto político-social do cinema. Profissionais
de renome da indústria partilharão os seus conhecimentos, ideias e
melhores práticas, oferecendo aos participantes uma compreensão mais
profunda da evolução do panorama cinematográfico e das últimas
tendências da indústria na Europa de Leste e em Portugal.
