<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">NEW DOCUMENTARY AWARD / CALL FOR ENTRIES<br>
<br>
The Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" </span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">and the <b>Film
Festival goEast </b>are inviting entries for the new <b>Documentary Award
"Remembrance and Future",</b> which is endowed with prize money of
10,000 euros and will be presented for the first time in the framework of the
2008 goEast festival. Future can be shaped by those who choose not to ignore
the past. <span style="color:black;">The award aims to honour directors who
critically and constructively analyze social developments in their countries of
origin, and thereby point out future-oriented perspectives.<br>
<br>
Eligible for submission are documentary films of a duration exceeding 30
minutes from the post-communist countries of Central, Eastern and Southeast
Europe, including the former republics of the Soviet Union. Likewise eligible
to compete are films produced in Germany or Israel but bearing a clear relation
to Central and Eastern Europe, whether due to the origin of the director and/or
the subject of the film. The films must be submitted on 35mm, 16mm, Beta Sp or
DV material complete with English subtitles.<br>
<br>
Consideration will be given to any documentary completed in 2006, 2007 or 2008
which is not scheduled for general release prior to the end of the festival and
has not been previously broadcasted on German television. Six documentary films
will be selected for screening at the goEast festival in Wiesbaden between 9
and 15 April 2008.<br>
