<DIV align=center><STRONG>“Contemporary Art and Public”<BR></STRONG><BR></DIV>
<DIV align=justify>The main speaker of the workshop and lecture is <SPAN
style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">Roger M.Buergel</SPAN>, art critic and curator. Roger
M.Buergel has great experience as curator in Germany as well as abroad. He
worked as artistic director at documenta 12 in Kassel. He is currently teaching
Art History at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe, Germany.<BR><BR><SPAN
style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">documenta </SPAN>is regarded as the most important
exhibition of contemporary art, drawing attention from all over the world. It
was initiated in 1955 by the artist and art educator, Arnold Bode, in Kassel.
After the period of Nazi dictatorship, it was supposed to reconcile German
public life with international modernity and also confront it with its own
failed Enlightenment.<BR><BR>At the two day seminar he will share his experience
and sketch out the underlying theoretical framework on contemporary art and
public. The participants will get a chance to present their projects proposed in
the framework of the EIDOS program “Public Space” and discuss them with Roger
M.Buergel and the audience.</DIV>
