Call for papers: Innovative service design for all<br>
<br>
Re-public <<a href="http://www.re-public.gr/en/">http://www.re-<wbr>public.gr/<wbr>en/</a>> , an online journal published in<br>
Greece, focuses on theoretical and practical innovations that might renew<br>
the field of democracy. The journal is bilingual (Greek-English) and it is<br>
funded by the Papandreou Foundation, Athens.<br>
<br>
Re-public invites contributions for an upcoming special issue (or issues,<br>
depending on the number and quality of submissions) entitled "Innovative<br>
service design for all".<br>
<br>
Service design lies in the centre of attention in contemporary, increasingly<br>
service-oriented knowledge economies. In such contexts, user experience is<br>
paramount, including both the interfaces and interactions that customers use<br>
to contact the service provider, as well as the back-office activities<br>
performed by the service provider. Given the complexity of services in<br>
modern, multicultural, networked societies and the criticality of their<br>
environmental impact, service design becomes a major issue for the years to<br>
come.<br>

Papers submitted may deal with the theme from various disciplinary<br>
perspectives and may be about (but not restricted to) the following:<br>
<br>
. Critically assessing tools and methodologies currently used for the<br>
purposes of service design<br>
<br>
. Identifying and exploring challenges brought about by new types of<br>
services in a networked society<br>
<br>
. Discussing the role of service design reform for the preservation of<br>
natural resources<br>
<br>
. Exploring public services and the role of citizens as co-producers<br>
<br>
. Conceptualizing desirable futures stemming from a new participatory<br>
service design culture<br>
<br>
. Analysing the political character of service design and its potential to<br>
generate social innovation<br>
<br>
Essays should be approximately 1,500 words long.<br>
