Join us at the symposium:

*Broken Performances: Time and (In)Completion*

21.-23.03.2013 @ Zagreb, Croatia

This symposium and its topic are a continuation of BADco.'s artistic
interest to relate performance and time. Our research is a critical
reflection on different structures of time - both in the context of
capitalist economic production, in the work with technologies on-stage
and in the work of dance as an old technology - aimed at examining
practices of not being at the height of time, intentional falling out
of step with the fast-paced development and flexibility required by
today's creative economy, creating forms of broken and re-purposed
functioning of the performance.

The symposium and attendant artistic program will include a.o.,
contributions by artists and scholars such as Sean Cubitt, Benjamin
Noys, Stephen Zepke, Franck Leibovici, Saska Rakef, BADco. etc.

The symposium is a part of our participation in the project
"TIMeSCAPES - Images and performance of time in late capitalism."
TIMeSCAPES is a long-term artistic research and production platform,
and is initiated by six cultural organizations: BADco. (HR), Maska
(SI), Walking Theory (RS), Science Communications Research (A),
Film-protufilm (HR) and the Academy of Drama Art, University of Zagreb
(HR).

SAVE THE DATES:

In April 2013 BADco. will be in residence at the artist-run platform
SKOGEN in Gothenburg, Sweden. Throughout a three week period we'll run
a public program that will include showings of three of our
performances: "Semi-interpretations", "Is There Life on Stage?" and an
experimental staging of our "Trilogy on Labor"; public talks and
presentations by Johan Normark, Tor Lindstrand, Anders Paulin and
BADco.; and showing of our new performative installation "TVolution
won't be televised".

Simpozij i njegova tema nastavak su umjetnickog interesa BADco. za
razmatranjem poveznica izvedbe i vremena. Nase istrazivanje vezano je
za kriticko promisljanje razlicitih struktura vremena kako u kontekstu
kapitalisticke ekonomske proizvodnje, u radu s tehnologijama na sceni,
tako i u radu plesa kao stare tehnologije. Prije svega, upuceno je na
ispitivanje praksi vremenske neprimjerenosti i namjernog ispadanja iz
koraka sa zahtjevima brzog razvoja i fleksibilnosti kakve namece
danasnja kreativna ekonomija, a koje rezultiraju strganim
funkcioniranjem izvedbe i njenom funkcionalnom transformacijom.

Simpozij i prateci umjetnicki program ukljucivat ce, medju ostalim,
priloge umjetnika i strucnjaka poput Seana Cubitta, Benjamina Noysa,
Stephena Zepkea, Francka Leibovicia, Saske Rakef, BADco. i dr.

Simpozij je dio međunarodnog projekta "TIMeSCAPES - Slike i izvedbe
vremena u kasnom kapitalizmu". TIMeSCAPES je visegodisnje umjetnicko
istrazivanje i produkcijska platforma sestoro organizacija: BADco.
(HR), Maska (SI), Walking Theory (RS), Science Communications Research
(A), Film-protufilm (HR) i Akademije dramske umjetnosti Sveucilista u
Zagrebu (HR).

CUVAJTE DATUME:

U travnju 2013. BADco. je na rezidencijalnom boravku u svedskom
Göteborgu na poziv artist-run platforme SKOGEN. Tijekom trotjednog
boravka organiziramo blok javnih dogadjanja u sklopu kojeg cemo
izvesti tri nase predstave: "Poluinterpretacije", "Ima li zivota na
sceni?" i eksperimentalni postav "Trilogije o radu"; predavanja i
prezentacije Johana Normarka, Tora Lindstranda, Andersa Paulina i
clanova BADco.; te izvedbenu instalaciju "TVolution won't be
televised".
