SALON VIDEO și TRANZIT.RO/IAȘI <http://TRANZIT.RO/IA%C8%98I> lansează un
apel deschis pentru lucrări video și de sunet. Acestea vor fi expuse în
cadrul ediției a patra salonvideo, ce va avea loc la Iași în luna decembrie
2013.

*TEMA EDIȚIEI: NOȚIUNI DE METODĂ*

Vorbind despre orice fel de acțiune fizică sau mentală, o transcriere
imediată ne face să o descriem drept o metodă. Există obiective ce trebuie
atinse (oricât de frivole sau neclare ar fi) și o situație inițială de la
care se pornește. Metoda se dezvoltă întotdeauna între cele două. Ce se
întâmplă, totuși, atunci când pașii de urmat nu sunt vizibili de la
început, când scopul nu este perfect clar sau pare irelevant? Ce motivează
folosirea unei metode și cum anume se alimentează ea?

Cea mai simplă acțiune folosită într-un proces de lucru poate fi analizată
în detaliu și separată în episoade din ce în ce mai concrete; ce anume
leagă etapele între ele? O hartă a schimbărilor impuse în structura unui
oraș, în ultimii cinci ani? Prin ce metodă au fost acestea realizate?
Procesul de luare a deciziilor la nivelul unui grup restrâns, sau al unei
națiuni - care este sensul în care sunt comunicate acestea?

Tot ceea ce facem poate fi descris ca metodă a unui proiect. Lucrezi ca
freelancer, te angajezi full time pentru a-ți plăti taxele de școlarizare,
te oferi voluntar până la 30 de ani, începi să ai grijă de o pisică, începi
să cultivi plante, sau ieși în stradă la proteste. Ce te inspiră să
acționezi într-un fel anume? salonvideo te invită la o privire atentă
asupra tacticilor secrete, a agendelor ascunse, a obiceiurilor de lucru și
a tehnicilor de supraviețuire în viața de zi cu zi, unde tot ceea ce faci
pornește motoarele unui mecanism.

Oricare ar fi METODA prezentată, credem că cineva ar fi interesat să o
vadă. Primim propuneri pentru lucrări video doar prin intermediul
formularului <http://salonvideo.net/form_method> online, până pe 20
noiembrie 2013. Lucrările selectate vor fi apoi trimise la calitate maximă
prin transfer online.

salonvideo este o platformă de expunere și experiment pentru arta video,
inițiată de Daniela Pălimariu și Dan Basu în 2012 în București. salonvideo

SALON VIDEO and TRANZIT.RO/IAȘI <http://TRANZIT.RO/IA%C8%98I> are launching
an open call for video and sound works. These will be displayed in the
frame of the fourth edition of salonvideo, which will take place in Iași,
Romania in December 2013.

*THEME OF THIS EDITION: MATTERS OF METHOD*

When speaking about any type of action, be it physical or mental, an
immediate transcription makes us describe it as a method. There are goals
to be attained (however frivolous or blurry they might be) and an initial
situation to start from. The method always develops in between these two.
But what happens when the steps to take are not so clear, when the goal is
lacking clarity or it even seems to be irrelevant? What motivates the use
of a method and what feeds it?

Take the simplest action you do in your work and analyze it thoroughly,
divide it into smaller and smaller particles and find out what holds
everything together. Think about the last five years and draw a map of the
different stages your city has been through. List the changes that took
place and try to connect them. Think about decision making processes
throughout a group or a nation - in what sense are they communicated?

Everything you do can be described as a project. You work as a freelancer,
you take a full time job to pay your tuition fees, you volunteer until your
30s, you start taking care of a cat, you go out in the street to join
protests. What inspires you to act and do things the way you do? salonvideo
invites you to a close reflection on the secret tactics, hidden agendas,
working habits and survival techniques for the everyday, where everything
you do turns on the engines of a mechanism.

Whatever you choose to present as a METHOD, we think that someone else
would enjoy watching it. Send us your proposed video or sound works through
the application form <http://salonvideo.net/form_method> only, by November
20th 2013. If your work is selected, we'll ask for a good quality file via
web transfer.

salonvideo is a platform for showing and experimenting with video art,
initiated by Daniela Palimariu and Dan Basu in 2012 in Bucharest. We would
