Deadline: March 20, 2014
Contact: bacaci.sjenki at gmail.com

About the project Wall Displays (WD) ZAGREB PARAFERNALIE:
The Wall Displays project began in 2006 as a window/ communication
channel of the invisible parts (field and archive research, thematic
workshops and labs, comunity projects, etc.) of the long-term research
project “Re-collecting Cities/Re-collecting Time”. The original
locations of WD editions were seven wall displays of the ex-cinema
venue of Croatian Cinematheque located in different places in downtown
Zagreb. From 2010, Wall Displays have grown into a separate and
autonomous project ZAGREB PARAFERNALIE.
Wall Displays are a visible part of our research and reflection on the
city, public and private space, urbanity, co-existence and identity.

TARGETED AUDIENCE OF THE PROJECT:
- Random passers-by but also the intentional readers
- Happy visitors of our weblog – http://zidnenovine.blogspot.com
- Professional community: urban anthropologists, art historians,
sociologists, urban narrators, architects and urban planners
- Archivists of intangible (urban) heritage and spatial/social and
architectural heritage

THE NUMBER OF WALL DISPLAYS/LOCATIONS:
Wall Displays boxes are positioned in 8 different location in the
public space in the city of Zagreb.

THEMATIC FRAMEWORK
This project is thematically focused on: the everyday life events,
micro and macro memory narratives linked to the area around the Wall
Display boxes, and/or WD are metaphoricaly precieved as "windows" into
other spaces, cities and worlds. We are interested in
interdisciplinary and/or artistic perspectives and perceptions on the
following themes: transformation of the city, the questioning of the
politics of remembrance, political acts and media presence in the
public space.

PROJECT METHODOLOGY
Wall Displays are based on the approach to the listed thematic
guidelines and they also develop hyper textual models of reading the
city, alternative cartography, construction of the place of
remembrance and tactics of constructing the collective.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Integral and creative author concept of the whole Edition of Wall
Displays in which each of the eight locations (displays) content is
treated separately within the proposed Edition.

artists same as to researchers in Humanities (Ethnology, Sociology,
