участие в изданието на фестивала за
2015г.

Sofia Underground е фестивал за съвременно
изкуство с легендарен статут и
оригинална форма. Основан от Руен
Руенов (1958-2011) през 1997г., той започва
като разгърнат хепънинг с многочасова
пърформанс прогама - реакция на
социалните кризи по това време. От
тогава, с малки прекъсвания, фестивалът
развива изявена чувствителност към
обществените процеси и динамиката на
художествената сцена.

След възстановяването на фестивала
през 2007г., с Remember Sofia Underground, последваха и
изданията: 2008 - САМ / Индивидуални
ритуали, жестове и образи в епохата на
информационното общество; 2009 - Кризисно
издание; 2012 - Обосновани действия /
издание в памет на Руен Руенов; 2013 - Occupy
Yourself – gesamtkunstwerk; 2014 - Необикновени
доказателства. Изложби с документални
материали от фестивала са представяни
в музеи и галерии в Берлин, Варна, Кайро,
Ню Йорк, Пловдив, Русе и София, като
голяма част от архива на фестивала е
дарен на Музея за съвременно изкуство
– САМСИ.

МАШИНИ / 2015

Темата, около която се работи по
селекцията на фестивала за пърформанс
и гранични форми на изкуство се
определя както от изчерпването на
конвенционалните форми за
интелектуална и критическа реакция към
обществените процеси, така и от
търсенето на нови полета и изразни
средства за художествена рефлексия и
креативен процес.

Като универсален художествен модел
фестивалът Sofia Underground 2015 ще се проведе с
тема „Машини“, под която ще се опитаме
да потърсим въпросните полета и
средства в зоната на разлома или
сблъсъка на _techne_ и _psyche_. Две позиции,
чието взаимодействие определя
реалността и състоянието ни като
обекти и субекти, същества и проекции,
отделни единици и части от цялото,
творци и материал, живи и не, хора.

Форматът за участие е отворен както за
утвърдени, така и за млади артисти от
страната и чужбина, които са готови за
експерименти в областта на
пърформанса, акцията и
аудио-визуалните изкуства.

Месецът на провеждане на фестивала е
април, а локациите ще бъдат обявени
допълнително. Характерът на проявите,
свързани със Sofia Underground традиционно е
свободен и спонтанен, затова очакваме
предложения за участие във всякаква
форма.

Предложения се събират до края на месец
март 2015г.

екипите на Studio Dauhаus (от 2007г.) в
колаборация с eXAF.org (от 2013 г.)

The international performance art festival Sofia Underground is a
contemporary art event, gained cult status during the years with its
original form. Founded by art critic and activist Ruen Ruenov
(1958-2011) in 1997, it first started as a widespread happening with a
long-running performance program - a reaction to the social crisis of
that time. Ever since, with a few short breaks, this event has developed
a prominent sensitivity according public processes and the dynamics of
the local art scene.

After the festival revival in 2007 with the topic Remember Sofia
Underground, we had the following editions: 2008 - ALONE / Individual
rituals, gestures and images in the mass communication era; 2009 -
Crisis Edition; 2012 - Justified Actions (in memory of Ruen Ruenov);
2013 - Occupy Yourself - Gesamtkunstwerk; 2014 - Unusual Evidences.
Exhibitions with documentary material from the festival were presented
in prestigious museums and galleries in Berlin, Cairo, London, New York,
Plovdiv, Russe, Sofia and Varna. A big part of its archive was donated
to the fund of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sofia (SAMCA).

MACHINES / 2015

The topic behind the selection process (of the performance and border
art forms festival) is determined on one hand by the depletion of
conventional forms of intellectual and critical reaction to the public
processes, and on the other - of the demand for new fields and means of
expression for artistic reflections and creative approach.

As a universal artistic model, the festival Sofia Underground 2015 will
be held under the topic “Machines”, which leads our search for those
new fields and means in the zone of fault and crash between _techne_ and
_psyche_. Two positions, whose interaction determines our reality and
state as objects and subjects, beings and projections, separate units
and parts from the whole, creators and material, alive or not, human.

The format of participation is open for established and emerging artists
from Bulgaria and abroad who are ready to experiment in the area of
performance, action, intervention and audio-visual arts. The character
of events, connected to Sofia Underground is traditionally free and
spontaneous, that’s why we expect all kinds of projects.

Application process is open until the end of March, 2015.

Аpplications can be emailed with a short CV and project description.

The festival is going to take place in April. Locations: TBA.
