În luna august, la Apartamentul Deschis se vor desfășura trei proiecții de film documentar despre viața comunităților din oraș.

Orașele fac loc pentru serviciu, locuință, navetism și petrecerea timpului liber într-un spațiu condensat cu diferite comunități. Acest spațiu urban condensat favorizează întîlnirile diferitor oameni la locul de muncă, în spațiu public, în timpul liber, acasă. În spațiu urban, deasemenea găsim temei pentru a cultiva diverse subculturi, spații unde se întîlnesc indivizi cu același interese pentru a împărtăși idei radicale, de modă veche, de masă, sau idei noi și modalități de trai. Prin densitatea și diversitățile lor, orașele au funcționat de-a lungul istoriei ca locuri pentru schimburi intelectuale și consolidare, prin care fiecare își poate construi o comunitate post-modernă. Și ne-am putea întreba – oare ce-ar fi orașele fără acești indivizi care se adună împreună să le schimbe cursul?

Primul film, Viața într-o fabrică de sicrie relatează bucuria și nevoile unui trai în cadrul unui proiect de locuințe comunitare, într-o fabrică de sicrie renovată.

Christiania este un spațiu care a început să funcționeze ca un squat în anii 70 al secolului trecut și ulterior s-a transformat într-un experiment social pentru organizațiile alternative sociale și de trai comunitar.

Orașul rebel e un documentar despre un grup de tineri din Amsterdam, care în anii 60 prin manifestările lor jucăușe în spațiu public au reușit să evoce o revoluție cuturală în Olanda.

VIAȚA ÎNTR-O FABRICĂ DE SICRIE [DE/EN]

În 1989, un grup de 30 de activiști obțin o proprietate și anume ruinele a celei mai largi fabrici de sicrie de pe vremurile fostei monarhii Austro-Ungare. Pas cu pas, ei le transformă într-un proiect de locuință unic și excepțional cu 112 apartamente, o grădiniță, un restaurant și o baie publică. Din materialul video istoric de la mijlocul secolului al XVIII-lea și din interviurile inspiraționale ale fondatorilor, împreună cu arhitectorul Jonny Winter, ne fac o scurtă călătorie prin timp. Protagoniștii filmului ne oferă o viziune comună inspirațională și diversă. Ei ne povestesc despre procesul istovitor de luare a deciziilor și lupta permanentă pentru participarea continuă în procesul de construcție. Filmul ne prezintă un exemplu încurajator de locuință aflată într-o proprietate participativă și colectivă. Spre final ne confruntăm cu întrebarea: ”Putem transforma un plan atît de idealistic într-o construcție reală?”

Christiania – 40 de ani de ocupație relatează istoria unei comunități de squateri, ce au ocupat o bază militară abandonată în centrul orașului Copenhaga în Danemarka.
Christiania există din 1971, cînd idealismul tinerilor și deficitul de locuințe accesibile a motivate sute de tineri să ocupe 85 de acri de clădiri abandonate, din cărămidă, lemn, metereze și canale,  adaptîndu-le la condițiile casnice de trai. Găsind destul de nepotrivit din punct de vedere politic să-i alunge pe tinerii colonizatori, guvernul Danemarcei a denumit Christiania un ”un experiment social de scurtă durată”.

40 de ani mai tîrziu, Christiania încă mai există.

Din interviurile stabilite între rezidenții Christianiei, acomodați pe termen lung, și poliția împreună cu oficialii guvernamentali, Christiania – 40 de ani de ocupație exploră consensurile democratice, metodele alternative de construcție, politica drogurilor și cultura Scandinavă într-un studiu provocativ și cu un caracter deseori umoristic a acestei comunități fascinante.

ORAȘUL REBEL [NL/EN]

Filmul Orașul Rebel arată cum un grup mic de tineri din Amsterdam, în anii 60 au provocat autoritățile cu un avînt anarhist și happening-uri, au dus poliția și primarul la disperare, le-au oferit tinerilor propria voce și au schimbat Olanda pentru totdeauna. Generația protestatoare a cauzat o generație de conflict. Provo, neintenționat a devenit purtătorul de cuvînt al dorinței pentru schimbare. Filmul documentar reînvie acea perioadă în timpul căreia tinerii de după război erau sătuli de a fi legați de corzile bisericii, de autorități și de părinții lor.

Filmul conține un material unic din acele decenii și aduce la viață din nou perioada în care tinerii de după război au avut gustul libertății și s-au eliberat de sub jugul lui Dumnezeu și al bisericii generației anterioare. Provo a înflorit doar pentru doi ani, dar a schimbat Olanda pentru totdeauna. O mare parte din ceea ce acum ni se acordă, își are rădăcinile în acei ani.

Open Air Cinema: Life of communities in the city

In August, we will be showing three films about the life of communities in the cities. Cities make place for work, living, commuting and leisure of a diversity of people in a condensed space. This condense urban space enables the meeting of a diversity of people at work, in public space, in leisure facilities, at home. In the urban space, we also find the ground to cultivate subcultuers, as individuals may find in it the space to meet the likeminded, to share innovative, radical, old-fashioned, mainstream or new ideas and ways of living. Through its density and diversities, cities have functioned throughout history as the places for intellectual exchange and consolidation wherein the individual can construct its post-modern community. And one may ask what would cities be without those individuals coming together to shape its currents?

The first movie Life in the coffin factory discusses the joy and nuisances of living in a communitarian housing project in the renovated coffin factory. Christiana started as a squat in the 70’s and developed in a social experiment for alternative social organizations and communitarian living. Rebellious city is a documentary about a collective of young people in Amsterdam in the 60’s whom through their playful manifestations in public space manage to evoke a cultural revolution in the Netherlands.

LIFE IN THE COFFIN FACTORY / LEBEN IN DER SARGFABRIK [DE/EN]

In 1989 a group of some 30 activists acquires a property and the ruin of what used to be the largest coffin factory in the times of the former Austrian-Hungarian monarchy. Step by step they turn it into a unique and exceptionally housing project with 112 flats, a kindergarten, a restaurant and a public bath. On historic video footage from the mid-eighties and in their very inspiring interviews the founders – together with the witty architect Johnny Winter – take us on a little tour through time. The protagonists give us an inspiring and diverse view of their common vision. The protagonists tell us about the exhausting process of decision making and the permanent fight for participation in the ongoing building process. The movie shows a encouraging example of participative, collective owned housing. At the end we are confronted with the question: „Can we still turn such an idealistic plan into build reality?”

CHRISTIANIA – 40 YEARS OF OCCUPATION [DK/RO]

Christiania – 40 Years of Occupation tells the story of a squatter community occupying an abandoned military base in the center of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Christiania was born in 1971 when youthful idealism and a severe housing shortage incited hundreds of young people to occupy 85 acres of deserted brick buildings, woods, ramparts and canals as their home. Finding it politically unpopular to evict the young settlers, the Danish government declared Christiania a “short-term social experiment”.

Over forty years later, Christiania is still standing.

Through interviews with longtime Christiania residents and police and government officials, Christiania – 40 Years of Occupation explores consensus democracy, alternative building methods, drug policy and Scandinavian culture in a provocative and often humorous character study of this fascinating community.

REBELSE STAD / REBELLIOUS CITY [NL/EN]

Rebellious City shows how a small group of young people in the Amsterdam of the Sixties provoked authority with anarchistic élan and happenings, drove the police and mayor to despair, gave young people their own voice and changed the Netherlands forever. The protest generation caused a generation conflict. Unintentionally, Provo became the mouthpiece of the desire for change. The documentary revives that period during which post-war youths were tired of being tied to the apron strings of the church, the authorities and their parents.
The film contains unique material from those decades and brings to life again the period in which post-war youngsters had a taste of freedom and freed themselves of the yoke of God and the Church of previous generations. Provo only flourished for two years but changed the Netherlands forever. Much of what we now take for granted has its roots in those years.
