INSTANT ACTS against violence and racism

Actors, musicians, dancers, acrobats wanted for the international theatre
and music project

Interkunst e.V. is looking for young performing artists from all over the
world, preferably groups of 2 or 3 persons (age between 17 and 27) who are
active in theatre, dance, music, circus, etc. for the theatre und music
tour-project "INSTANT ACTS against violence and racism" in
September/October 2007.
We want to create an international group (max 20 persons) which is a
mixture of talented and creative people, open for new experiences. They
should come from different traditions and cultural backgrounds and
represent various types of performing art. Together we want to make the
audience aware about different faces of violence and racism. “INSTANT
ACTS” works through different workshops and high quality show in an
attractive and emotional way effectively against prejudices, violence and
racism. The project motivates also the young audience to active and
creative life without drugs and alcohol.

The invited artists are supposed to bring short performances to the
project (max 10 min), based on their personal experiences and ideas
concerning to the subject. On the beginning of the tour we will work
together on new acts too. All elements are going to be connected with the
help of the theatre director in one professional show (75 min). During the
tour, every time before the show, we will have workshops with the local
youth, for example theatre, dance, rap, music, drumming, etc. We present
our project in schools, theatres, churches, youth- or cultural-centres and
jails.

The application must include following information: Vzdrževanje
1. Personal data: name, date of birth, nationality, picture
2. Your artistic activity and experiences, preferably with demo tape
3. Description of your capability to lead a workshop with young people
4. Motivation to take part in this project

Please let us know about you soon by email or by post (below). In case we
are interested in your participation we will ask you to prepare a
presentation for the project. Each invited artist gets lodging, catering,
transport, and a salary.

The international youth theatre project "INSTANT ACTS against Violence and
Racism" gets public support by municipalities, districts and ministries of
the federal states of Germany. The project has been already carried out in
more then 400 cities and villages in Germany and other countries of
Europe.

INTERKUNST e.V. is a registered non-profit association based in Berlin. It
was founded on 1990. Activities are concentrated on the realisation of
multi-cultural projects, innovative forms of encounter and
interdisciplinary forms of theatre and art.

The association is in particular representing their European approaches by
creating integrative projects for artists from different disciplines and
of different nationalities. A main focus of the theatre work lies in the
area of cultural preventive measures, which is realised by creating
educational cultural concepts and programs. Here, methods are developed in
order to achieve a maximum involvement and activity of the audience.
