Call for Application Artist in Residence 2008


This Call for Residency >> Vienna : March > May 2008 >> is open to all
artists working in the fields of media

& video art, net art, dance and performance.


nomad.theatre maintaining the venue LABfactory (established as a not-
for- profit platform for

contemporary forms in performance, art and media) promotes artists
working on the cutting edge’s of science,

media/art, performance and technologies. Assessing critically cultural
narratives and policies in media-art.

Establishing a trans disciplinary and trans national network of art and
artist(s), of collectives and NGO’s

nomad.theatres primal intention is to support communication and research
as well as collaborative actions in

art- and media-production. Connecting and sharing projects and products
as well as producers knowledge and

experience, encouraging trans national communication and interaction,
supporting mobility and trans national

competency of cultural players. In order to establish a creative
political and social collective of cultural workers

in artistic fields outside the restrictions of nation or canon.


nomad.theatre provides

Accomodation, monthly fees and travel allowances.

Free access to studios and workstations (apple/linux).

Editing Studio (final cut pro, pro tools) for all sorts of video
productions plus digital and analogue Material.

High-End apparatus for audio&video streaming of art works. 70 qm of
technical fully equipped rooms plus

technical support, providing space for workshops, laboratories and/or
presentations. Public promotion of artist

and artists final presentation on regional as well as transnational levels.


Objectives of the Residency : active collaboration - participation in
laboratories or workshops, advancement

of current projects of nomad.theatre/Labfactory. Residency is ending
with a final presentation of the Artist and

his/her work. Promoting and providing digital as well as physical
circulation of artist/s, aesthetics, products and

producers in a permanent expanding trans national network of people
working in cultural sectors.


Duration of Residency: 2 Months.

Artists are invited to send letter of intent and submission

for Vienna 2008 until 30.01.2008.
