Call for papers: Intellectuals and culture during the communist regime [the 3rd yearbook of IICCR www.iiccr.ro] 

Dear colleagues and friends,

We are pleased to announce that in 2009, the 3rd yearbook of The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania will square up to the roles played by the intellectuals and overall culture during the communist regime. 

Researchers are invited to submit proposals for articles covering problems of:

Ø     Official representation

Ø     Alternative culture

Ø     Samizdat

Ø     Different schools of thinking during the period

Ø     Monographs

Ø     Artistic representations 

Ø     Repression of intellectuals 

Ø     Survival strategies of those

Ø     National representations of culture and intellectuals through          Diaspora during the communist times

Ø     Other related topics

in Romania or any other former communist country.

The selected articles will be published in the 3rd yearbook of IICCR, by the end of 2009.

Your proposal shouldn’t exceed 400-500 words. Please submit it, together with a short resume,to:

Deadline for the submission of proposals is March 15th, 2009. Selected authors will be notified by 1st of April. In case of your admission, the deadline for rendering the full text is June 15th, within a minimum limit of 40.000 and a maximum of 60.000 characters, Times New Roman, 1,5 paragraphs.   The accepted languages for proposals/ articles will be English or Romanian.
