Centrum Sztuki Wspó³czesnej £a¼nia (£a¼nia Contemporary Art Centre) hereby
announces the Competition for the best film as part of the 3rd edition of
the IN OUT Festival 2009, which is to be held from 16th to 17th October
2009 in CSW £a¼nia in Gdañsk.
The patronage of the project was taken by the Marshal of Pomerania
Province, Jan Koz³owski.
REGULATIONS OF IN OUT Festival 2009

The Organizer Centrum Sztuki Wspó³czesnej ‘£a¼nia’ ( CSW £a¼nia) in
Gdañsk, 80-767 Gdañsk ul. Jaskó³cza 1,
hereby announces the all-Poland open competition as part of the IN OUT
Festival 2009.
Rules of the competition:
1. The competition consists of two stages. Both professionals and students
of art faculties creating their works on the basis of motion picture,
hereinafter referred to as films, are invited to take part.
2. Each participant may put forward up to three films.
3. Prizes and distinctions in the competition are as follows:
1st prize: PLN 2 000.00
2nd prize: PLN 1 000.00
distinction: PLN 500.00
audience award: PLN 500.
The Organizer reserves the right to divide prizes differently or not to
grant them at all. Prizes and distinctions shall be paid not later than
within 30 days from the date of public presentation of films at the 2nd
stage of the competition. Prizes and distinctions shall be subject to
taxation on general terms and conditions: the tax shall be collected and
paid by the organizer.
4. To each film put forward for the competition there shall be attached an
application form, filled in legibly by the person registering the film for
the competition, a short biography of the author(-s) (up to 10 sentences)
as well as a film shot or graphics in the JPG format. Where the character
of the film requires an additional description or suitable technical
information, this shall be also attached to the film.
5. In the competition one can register a film fulfilling the criteria
mentioned below:
rendition by any technique; recorded on a DVD in the AVI or MPG format
required form of presentation: projection, 1-channel video,
duration from 3 to 15 minutes.

opening credits shall contain the title of the work, but no data
concerning its author.
the parcel shall also contain a sealed envelope, described with an
emblem, containing the application form
6. The form of the film should reflect its subject.
7. Films to be shown at the 2nd stage of the competition will be selected
by the competition jury, appointed by the Organizer. The authors of films
qualified for the 2nd stage of the competition shall be individually
notified of the selection results.
8. The results of the 2nd stage of the competition shall be settled by the
3-person jury on the last day of presentation of films.
9. By registering a film in the competition, the author simultaneously
consents for the free presentation of his work during the IN OUT Festival
2009 in the registered office of Centrum Sztuki Wspó³czesnej ‘£a¼nia’ in
Gdañsk as well as during other presentations promoting the statutory
activity of CSW £a¼nia.
10. The competition films shall be sent by 3 August 2009 and the
competition shall be settled on 17 October 2009.
11. The Organizer does not return review copies of films or materials
attached thereto. At the request of authors, review copies may be returned
to them at their expense.
12. The Organizer shall not be liable for the loss of or damage to films
during transport.
13. Films registered for the competition may be used in television
programmes and digital publications related to the IN OUT Festival 2009.
The films shall be archived, so that they can be non-commercially made
available for the purpose of promotion, education and research. It is also
admissible to record the films on a common DVD carrier and put them in
circulation, non-commercially, in order to promote programme actions of
the Organizer.
14. Works bearing an emblem shall be delivered, together with an
application form, to the Organizer by the final and absolute deadline
falling on 3 August 2008 at 15.00 hours (the date of receipt counts) to
the following address:

15. Films sent without the filled application form and/or emblem and
failing to meet the technical requirements shall be rejected due to formal
reasons. Information concerning the author shall not be available for Jury
members, who shall receive all sent works with an emblem.
16. Works with the data of the Author recorded on the carrier shall be
rejected.
17. Sending of a film for competition together with an application form
shall be tantamount to the acceptance of the regulations of the IN OUT
Festival 2009 and the consent for the presentation of the work during the
festival.

the owner of proprietary copyrights related to the administration of the
work and releases organizers from any and all claims of third parties in
connection with the said work. Simultaneously, he consents for the work to
be used in television programmes and digital publications related to the
IN OUT Festival 2009 as well as archived in order to be made
non-commercially available for the purpose of promotion, education and
research. He also consents for the work to be recorded on a common carrier
and to be non-commercially made available for the purpose of promoting CSW
£a¼nia, IN OUT Festival 2009 and meetings of PARAKINO.
Personal data shall not be processed for other purposes than those
specified in the application form. The processing of all data shall be
conducted in compliance with this confidentiality declaration and
applicable law in force.

og³asza ogólnopolski konkurs otwarty w ramach III Festiwalu IN OUT 2009.
Zasady konkursu:
1. Konkurs jest dwuetapowy. Mog± w nim wzi±æ udzia³ profesjonali¶ci oraz
studenci uczelni artystycznych, tworz±cy prace w oparciu o obraz ruchomy;
zwane dalej filmami.
2. Ka¿dy uczestnik mo¿e zg³osiæ do konkursu do trzech filmów.
3. Nagrody i wyró¿nienia w konkursie wynosz±:
I nagroda: 2 000,00 z³
II nagroda: 1 000,00 z³
wyró¿nienie: 500,00 z³
nagroda publiczno¶ci: 500 z³.
Organizator zastrzega sobie prawo do innego podzia³u nagród, jak równie¿
do ich nieprzyznania.
Nagrody i wyró¿nienie zostan± wyp³acone nie pó¼niej ni¿ w ci±gu 30 dni od
daty publicznej prezentacji filmów w II etapie konkursu. Kwoty nagród i
wyró¿nienia podlegaj± opodatkowaniu na ogólnych zasadach; podatek zostanie
pobrany i odprowadzony przez organizatora.
4. Ka¿demu zg³oszonemu do konkursu filmowi powinna towarzyszyæ czytelnie
wype³niona przez zg³aszaj±cego karta zg³oszenia, krótki biogram autora lub
autorów (do 10 zdañ) oraz zdjêcie kadru lub grafika w formacie JPG. Je¶li
specyfika filmu tego wymaga, zg³oszeniu powinien towarzyszyæ dodatkowy
opis lub odpowiednie informacje techniczne.
5. Do konkursu mo¿na zg³osiæ film spe³niaj±cy poni¿sze kryteria:
• realizacja – dowoln± technik± oraz zapis na p³ycie DVD w formacie AVI
lub MPG
• wymagana forma prezentacji: projekcja, 1-kana³owe wideo,
czas trwania od 3 do 15 minut.
• ka¿da p³yta DVD powinna byæ opisana god³em
• czo³ówka filmu powinna zawieraæ tytu³ pracy, ale nie powinna zawieraæ
¿adnych danych o autorze.
• przesy³ka powinna zawieraæ równie¿ zaklejon± i opisan± god³em kopertê z
wype³nionym formularzem zg³oszeniowym
6. Forma filmu powinna odzwierciedlaæ jego tematykê.
7. Do II etapu konkursu filmy zostan± wybrane przez komisjê konkursow±,
powo³an± przez Organizatora. Autorzy filmów zakwalifikowanych do II etapu
konkursu zostan± indywidualnie powiadomieni o wynikach wyboru.
8. O wynikach II etapu konkursu zadecyduje 3 osobowe jury w ostatnim dniu
prezentacji filmów.
9. Autor, zg³aszaj±c film do udzia³u w konkursie, wyra¿a jednocze¶nie
zgodê na bezp³atny pokaz jego pracy podczas III Festiwalu IN OUT 2009 w
siedzibie Centrum Sztuki Wspó³czesnej „£a¼nia” w Gdañsku oraz podczas
innych prezentacji promuj±cych dzia³alno¶æ statutow± CSW £±¼nia.
10. Termin nadsy³ania filmów na konkurs up³ywa 03.08.2009 r., a
rozstrzygniêcie konkursu nast±pi do dnia 17.10.2009
11. Organizator nie zwraca kopii przegl±dowych filmów i za³±czonych do
nich materia³ów informacyjnych. Na ¿yczenie kopie pokazowe zostan±
odes³ane do autorów filmów na ich koszt.
12. Organizator nie ponosi odpowiedzialno¶ci za zaginiêcie lub uszkodzenie
filmów podczas transportu.
13. Filmy zg³oszone do konkursu mog± zostaæ wykorzystane w zwi±zanych z
Festiwalem IN OUT 2009 audycjach telewizyjnych i publikacjach cyfrowych.
Filmy zostan± zarchiwizowane dla potrzeb niekomercyjnego udostêpniania w
celach promocyjnych, edukacyjnych i badawczych. Dopuszcza siê tak¿e
zamieszczanie ich na wspólnym no¶niku DVD i niekomercyjne wprowadzenie do
obiegu w celu promocji dzia³añ programowych Organizatora.
14. Prace opatrzone god³em wraz z za³±czonym formularzem zg³oszeniowym
nale¿y dostarczyæ do Organizatora w nieprzekraczalnym terminie do
03.08.2009 r., do godziny 15.00 (liczy siê data wp³ywu) na adres:

15. Filmy przes³ane bez wype³nionego formularza zg³oszeniowego i/lub god³a
oraz nie spe³niaj±ce wymagañ technicznych zostan± odrzucone z przyczyn
formalnych. Informacje o Autorze nie bêd± dostêpne dla cz³onków Jury,
którzy otrzymaj± zestaw nades³anych prac opatrzonych god³em.
16.Prace z danymi o Autorze zawartymi na no¶niku zostan± odrzucone
17.Nades³anie filmu do konkursu wraz z wype³nion± kart± zg³oszenia oznacza
akceptacjê regulaminu III Festiwalu IN OUT 2009 i zgodê na prezentacjê
pracy w trakcie wydarzeñ festiwalu.
