dedicated** **to the** "**Art** **a** **priori**: **contemporary** **stories
**" **International** **Curator** **Projects** **Contest projects-finalists
presentation will take place at the **"UNIAN" **news agency.** *
Last year EIDOS Arts Development Foundation announced a curator contest
aimed to bring contemporary and Ukrainian traditional art closer.
Participants' projects offer new perspectives on the history of Ukrainian
art and represent contemporary art practices next to the masterpieces of
traditional art from the collections of national art museums of different
Ukrainian cities.
More than 50 applications from different parts of Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia,
Moldova, Poland and Russia were submitted to the contest. International
judges with the Head Judge, Yara Bubnova, selected 12 projects for further
realization.
Presentation of the first three projects will take place on the
International Museum Day: May 16 in Odessa, May 18 and 21 in Kharkiv.
During the press-conference detailed information on all the projects to be
realized in summer and autumn 2009 in Odessa, Kharkiv, Sevastopol, Poltava
and Ternopil will be provided.
Questions will be posed to EIDOS Arts Development Foundation President *Ludmila
Bereznitsky*, "Art a priori: contemporary stories" Contest Head Judge *Yara
Bubnova*, Kyiv Museum of Russian Art Director *Yuri Vakulenko*, one's of the
contest projects curators *Mykola Ridny* and the Head of Analysis* *and
Prognosis of the Museum Affairs department of the Ministry of Culture and
Tourism of Ukraine *Mykola Skyba*.
*Fragments of the video-art by the participants of the "New History" project
(SOSka: curator group Mykola Ridny, Hanna Kryventsova and Halyna Kuklenko)
that is going to be opened in the National Art Museum of Kharkiv will be
demonstrated to the journalists.

*Accredited journalists will receive an information CD with text and visual
materials about the projects.*
