*Loose Associations: Lines of Movement *program is aimed at research and
documentation of experimental art practices in the countries of the former
Eastern Bloc. The program is aimed at influencing current lack of knowledge
and connections among the ex socialist countries in Central and Eastern
Europe, as well as contributing to self-contextualization of the respective
local art scenes.



In the beginning of 2008 the collaboration between Loose
Associations/Slobodne veze and the Moldavian association Oberliht began. It
was a project of artist interventions in public space of Chisinau, capital
of the former Soviet Republic of Moldova. The project entitled *INTERVENTIONS3
*involved more than thirty participants from several European countries who
were invited to reflect over the processes that have shaped Chisinau's
public space, its visual structure, the memory and the everyday experience
of its inhabitants.



The collaboration continued in 2009, when the CHIOSC project, a platform for
public participation and cultural production, was launched. CHIOSC is
embodied in a small architectural unit entitled FLAT SPACE, work of Stefan
Rusu, currently presented in Gallery VN in Zagreb. In the summer of 2009,
the *artist in residency *project was initiated within the framework of the
CHIOSC project. The first artist to participate in CHIOSC's *art in
residency *program was Tonka Maleković, whose collaboration with the
Moldavian artist Ion Fisticanu resulted in *The possibility of the city*project
*.*

The self-organization in arts, in the context lacking complete institutional
support for independent initiatives focused on contemporary artistic
expression, in Moldova, will be the topic of presentation, screening and
talk by Vladimir Us, curator and member of the Oberliht Young Artists
Association from Chisinau.
