What's coming up... 

Starting at EYE on a sunny Tuesday morning and continuing for four days at Binger Filmlab, some 250 people filed through Filmmaking in the Digital Age, June 10 - 14, 2014. 

Ted Hope <http://www.binger.nl/advisors/9249>  crashed down the gate on opening day. Some thoughts: Accept that change is the only constant and bring on some radical collaboration. We live in an era of cultural abundance where filmmakers no longer need to address the mass market with their work, but can speak directly to the niche.

After that it was smooth sailing though the daily morning master classes. They brought light to topics ranging from interactive storytelling and microbudget film producing to do-it-yourself marketing and audience behavior.

In the afternoons, 15 media professionals from around the globe worked on the further development of their 9 projects within the event's range of topics.

All this had not been possible without the generous support of the Netherlands Film Fund, Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, CFP fund, Cinema Digitaal, Film Producers Netherlands & EYE, sponsored by ACS Audiovisual Solutions, film program partner De Balie.

One filmmaker confessed that the event was "a vitamin supplement to the filmmakers diet".

What's going on... 

Application for the Writers <http://www.binger.nl/writers_lab>  & Creative Producers Labs <http://www.binger.nl/creative_producers_lab>  closed. Selection is underway and final results are expected to be announced mid July. 

Application to Rome Film Festival's New Cinema Network (NCN) <http://www.romacinemafest.it/ecm/web/fcr/en/home/the-business-street/38/projects-submission-2014> , dedicated to supporting new independent filmmaking, is open till July 15th. The next edition takes place October 17-21, 2014.

Islam Kamal & Peter Samuel concluded their 2-week residency program at Binger. In a tailor-made trajectory, the Egyptian filmmakers, winners of Masry Asly Itinerant Film Festival <http://maiff.net/> , worked on their next short films and took in all master classes of Filmmaking in the Digital Age.

Binger is moving... 

After more than 15 years, Binger Filmlab is moving out of her founding location. 

During the month of July, we can be reached by e-mail and/or on our cell phones.

As of August 1st, we'll be in our new location Lab 111 <http://lab111.nl/en/> .

Looking forward to welcoming you on our new location starting September 1st, after the summer break.

We've been thankful for the updates received on the status of projects and filmmakers, and are continuing to report on these through our social media.

Carey McKenzie's Binger project COLD HARBOUR <http://www.coldharbourmovie.com/>  has been selected for official competition at Durban International Film Festival where it world premieres on July 19. Alumni Tali Shalom Ezer <http://www.binger.nl/alumni/7068> 's and Elad Gavish <http://www.binger.nl/alumni/4980> 's Binger project PRINCESS <https://www.facebook.com/PrincessTheFilm>  is having its world premiere at the Jerusalem Film Festival in July where it is also part of the competition for best Israeli feature.

Alum Elan Gamaker's second feature IJSPAARD (ICEHORSE) <http://www.revolver.nl/nl/work/2183/icehorse>  will premiere at Durban as well. Teaser trailer for the all improv Dutch-language psychological drama here <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F23EvldRHyo> .

Binger Alum Stefano Odoardi's feature MANCANZA-INFERNO (LACK-HELL) <http://www.filmfestivalrotterdam.com/nl/films/mancanza-inferno/> , has been selected for Venice Biennale Music 2014. And Alum Joram Willink keeps going strong with ANYTHING GOES (ALLES MAG) <http://www.psfilmfest.org/festival/film/detail.aspx?id=24997&FID=72> , screening on the North American continent last week at Palm Springs International ShortFest.
