Dear Colleague,

 From February 1 - 28, 2015 apexart will be accepting submissions for  
the Franchise Program, a curatorial open call that allows anyone, from  
anywhere, to submit a proposal for an exhibition to be presented in  
any location outside of New York City. We hope that you will pass this  
information on to anyone you think might be interested in submitting.

Five hundred word proposals for idea-based, group exhibitions are  
accepted – online only – with no supplementary materials. Four winning  
submissions will be selected through a unique crowd-sourcing 100+  
member jury to become part of the 2015-16 exhibition season. This  
democratic and meritocratic selection process enables apexart to give  
opportunity to individuals of diverse backgrounds and serve the  
interests of our audience by incorporating them into the jury process.

Past Franchise exhibitions have taken place in Lima, Peru; Kampala,  
Uganda; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Amman, Jordan; Mexico City, Mexico; and  
Detroit, Michigan

The Franchise Program provides a process for emerging and more- 
established curators and artists as well as other individuals working  
in the center or on the margins of the art field, to consider and  
realize concise, thought-provoking exhibitions about ideas and topics  
that are important to them.
