The AVANCA'07 is a meeting with the whole world.

Deadline: April 30th, 2007
Free registration.

RULES

1 - OBJECTIVES
The objective is to trace a global perspective of the contemporary features
in cinema, television, video and multimedia. The Festival will occur from 25
to 29 July.

2 - CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION
The works admitted for selection are those produced on January 1st, 2005 or
after and cannot have been screened in Portugal.
Inscription in the following categories are admitted:

CINEMA: short and feature films in fiction and animation;
VIDEO: videographic production of less than 20 minutes;
TELEVISION: documentaries for television broadcasting;
MULTIMEDIA: vlogs (video blogs) where the videos must be preferentially
inedited.

The AVANCA'07 accepts the submission of works in 35mm, 16mm, Betacam
Digital, Betacam SP, HDV, DV and DVD.
The works submitted in the multimedia category must be available in the web.

3 - SUBMISSION
The works should be registered until April 30th, 2007 (stamp date) through a
registration form, accompanied with photography of the film and of the
director, synopsis and text or list of the dialogues(in one of the following
languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish or French).
For the selection, each candidate should send a preview video tape (VHS
and DVD in
multisystem, DV, HDV or BETACAM in PAL system).

4 - SELECTION FOR COMPETITION
The organisation committee makes the selection of the submitted works and
give notice to the applicants with selected works. The selection results
will be available online on the festival website www.avanca.com

5 - PRIZES
A prize will be attributed to the best work of each category: Cinema
(feature film), Cinema (short feature), Television, Video and Multimedia.
Prizes, among others, will be also given to the best Animation, the best
Actor/Actress and the best
Cinematography Direction.
In the Cinema category (feature film), since only up to 4 works are
selected, all of them will receive automatically a spetion mention.
The international jury will be composed of fit professionals invited by the
organisation.
The selected films may be object of acquisition proposals for the Portuguese
market (cinema, television and video).

6 - TRANSPORT AND INSURANCE OF WORKS
The organisation will inform the candidates with selected works and will
give out instructions for the expedition of final copies.
The delivery of the works is of the responsibility of the candidates, as it
is of the organisation's responsibility to return the film copies in 16 and
35 mm and video copies in Betacam.
The organisation is responsible for the insurance of the copies from their
arrival to their return.

Note: The preview VHS, DV, HDV or DVDs will not be sent back, for they will
become part of the Museum Archives of the Festival. We guarantee they will
not be used for commercial purposes.
The selected works may be object of non-commercial exhibitions for the
festival's promotion.

7 - OTHERS
The languages of the Festival are Portuguese and English.
Any possible doubt or question that may arise will be clarified or resolved
by the Organisation Committee.
