NEW COURSE: MediaArtHistories Practice -
Practice-oriented short program: Overview media art

The course is parallel to employment and offers a compact access to
the last developments of media art.
Renowned international experts like Lev MANOVICH, Christiane PAUL,
Paul SERMON, Monika FLEISCHMANN  or Steve DIETZ come to Krems.
Aim of the course is to present current media culture in a
professional way, to integrate it into our institutions  and to
develop strategies against its threatening loss.

Because of the modular structure of the program enrolment isl
possible to the Master Programm as well as  participation in the
semester long Certified Program MediaArtHistories Practice; language
of the course: English.
Begin: 18th of May 2007

LAST CALL: The Department for Image Science assigns a scholarship for
participants from Eastern Europe.

:: Scholarship for participants from the new EU-Member States

Supports artists and researchers who are working in the field of
conservation, documentation and intervention of media art or persons
who want to research in this field.
Applications for the scholarship should contain a letter of
motivation and may be submitted in German or English. Time for
applications will end on the 30th of March.

:: Goettweig Scholarship for MediaArtArchiving

This scholarship should support artists and scientists, who are
interested in the field of media art history. Especially welcome are
applicants, who want to deal with aesthetic and documentary aspects
in relation with the phenomenon of the interaction and its connection
 to media art and its history.

>From the scholarship holder a scientific discussion with the topic of
the scholarship is expected within the scope of the university
course, for example: within the focus of the master thesis,
realization of a practical training or a project in this field or any
other form of scientific discussion with the subject in accordance
with the course director.

In addition to the admission requirements for the Master Program
MediaArtHistories, MA, possible scholarship holders should show a
distinctive interest in the subject of the assigned scholarship and
the advancement of the research in this field. Within the scope of
the application this should be submitted in a letter of motivation.
The application can be sent either in English or German.

Applications for the "Goettweig Scholarship for MediaArtArchiving"
are possible till April 5th 2007.
